What is Remote Browser Isolation (RBI)?
RBI runs the web session in an isolated virtual environment in the Ericom cloud and sends the user only a safe visual stream. Malware and exploits never reach the user’s device, while the user sees an ordinary browser.
How is ZTEdge different from a classic SWG?
ZTEdge is a SASE platform with RBI on by default, ZTNA for applications and Web Application Isolation for contractors. An SWG filters traffic by category. ZTEdge runs web code in isolation, so it protects even against zero-days.
What is Web Application Isolation?
WAI opens a corporate web application through an isolated browser. Contractors can use it from unmanaged devices without a VPN. This prevents data leaks, copying, screenshots and device infection.
Is Ericom Air Gap suitable for the public sector?
Yes. Air Gap creates an isolated segment with one-way access to the public internet through RBI. It is used in government bodies, defense and the financial sector, where policy forbids direct web access.
How does RBI work together with EDR?
RBI and EDR complement each other: RBI keeps threats off the endpoint in the first place, and EDR is the last line of defense if an attacker gets in another way. In practice, RBI cuts EDR alerts from web browsing by 80-95%.
